To Collect

is the Opening Exhibition for Collecting Anxiety series.

Three “collections” invites audience to investigate what it means to collect. Abandoned materials, forgotten photoshoots, gathered sounds formed an assemblage, alluding to a nomadic stage of anxiety shaped by city nostalgia, and concern for contemporary waste.

During a week of overnight exhibition, audio clips, bottles, and papers were collected and transformed into a temporary community, evoking a texture of complexity intertwined with the emblem of trash, beauty, decay, nostalgia, anxiety, and mobility.

With labels washed off and meanings decayed, each object is perceived differently and transformed into a new individual.

The exhibition was held overnights, accompanied with night talks with artists guests Nicole Franchy, poet Dan Machlin, and photographer Hanna Solin.
