Wasteland of Future x Department of Philosophy

Wasteland of the Future initiated in Navy Yard, New York and continued exhibiting in Department of Philosophy at Fudan University, Shanghai, China.

The works demonstrated in Department of Philosophy include Future Relics Series, the video clip from Navy Yard, New York, and a documentary of full process of making the piece Disassem Line in China.

The exhibition was followed by the conference titled “In Discussion of Our Wasteland”, moderated by professor Lin Hui from Department of Philosophy. Together with curator and artist, we’ve explored the project and situated ourselves at the intersection between the 4th industrial revolution and the 6th mass extinction. How would humanistic studies react to such challenge, and what would it mean to be a human, now and future?
